Jersey Mencap South Coast Charity Challenge Sunday 19th May 2019
A 15 mile sponsored walk raising vital funds for people with a learning disability in Jersey.
Fundraise with your feet for Jersey Mencap whilst enjoying the stunning south coast of Jersey.
This annual charity walk has been going since 2006 and regularly attracts 500-600 participants. The event is run by a small team of staff and volunteers from Jersey Mencap and is the main fundraiser for this charity. The money raised will be invested into much needed projects which provide more opportunity, choice and support people living with a learning disability in Jersey.
Registered participants wil have a South Coast Charity Challenge tee-shirt, courtesy bag transfer and free bus transfer from the finish line kindly provided by Liberty Bus.
Start line: Sunday 19th May 2019 at La Rocque between 8.30am-9.30am. Please be respectful of the start time as special permissions have been granted in line with our event times. We are unable to start any earlier than 8.30am.
There is very limited parking at La Rocque so we suggest particants arrange a lift or park in St Helier and then use the No.1 bus from Liberation Bus station which leaves at 9am - this will bring you to La Rocque in good time. Liberty Bus will kindly be providing a free bus servcie from the finish line at Corbiere - this shuttle service will make stops at St Aubin and St Helier.
This event is a charity walk raising funds and awareness for Jersey Mencap. It is not an official sporting event and we are unable to offer official times.

Online registration closes 11th May 2019.
Registered walkers will be able to collect their walkers goody bag on Wednesday 15th May from 10am-4pm from Beresford Street Kitchen Cafe. After that date, uncollected goody bags will be taken to the start line.
In your goody bag, you will receive a scanning card that you will need to bring with you on the day. This will be scanned at each checkpoint. Please note: This is not a timed event; the scanning cards are used for health and safety purposes only, not for official timing
Bag transfer: The Land Rover Club will kindly transfer partcipants bags from the start line to the checkpoint at Bel Royal and then onto the finish line.
Checkpoints will be along the course and the finish line is at the Radio Tower near to Corbiere. We ask all participants to arrive prepared with their own supply of water/snacks.
Each checkpoint will be manned by our lovely volunteers who are there to help ensure the smooth running of the event.
Photographers will be there to record your achievement and pictures will be posted on our Facebook and website pages.
Cakes will be served to our walkers by members of Jersey Mencap as a small token of our appreciation of your fundraising efforts.
A courtesy bus will be provided by Liberty Bus at the finish line at Corbiere to transport walkers back to St Aubin, St Helier.
Save the date: Collect your goody bag on Wednesday 15th May from Beresford Street Kitchen Cafe from 10am-4pm. Any bags not collected at this time will be taken to the start line on the day.
All proceeds will be used to help children and adults with a learning disability in Jersey. This is our main fundraiser of the year and we are reliant on the money raised through your sponsorship to maintain our projects.
