Steve is taking part in HMT 6(66) Beast Of A Ride which is raising funds for ChildLine Nordoff-Robbins Teenage Cancer Trust
"Fancy being a great human and donating to Teenage Cancer Trust, Nordoff Robbins & Childline?
This June I'll join a bunch of great boys and girls in a 180 mile cycling trip over 2 days that frankly I am not fit enough to do and then I'll go to work at Download Festival when I get there but why?
Well for Teenage Cancer Trust, Nordoff Robbins and Childline whose volunteers and doctors are way better people than I shall ever be. They do amazing things that never end up in magazines and on the radio but hopefully in our small way, we will shine a light on the work they do.
The Heavy Metal Truants is the only charity cycle ride of its kind, and it represents the spirit of the metal community. We are artists, agents, managers, labels, industry and fans united by a love of heavy metal and a desire to raise money for kids who need it most, in the name of Nordoff Robbins, Childline, and Teenage Cancer Trust.
To date these incredible rides have raised £469,500 including the £131,500 we raised doing this in 2017. This year it should hopefully reach £620,000 to date and all of that money goes to Teenage Cancer Trust, Nordoff Robbins and Childline. I swore I'd never do this again after doing it for the first time last year, yet here I am. You start seeing how the donations help these charities and suddenly you forget all about how hard the ride is because it pales into comparison with what these children go through on a daily basis.
See you at Download..."
Race Nation provides online registration and fundraising for mass participation events through our platform “SportsGiving”, helping to raise vital sums of money for many good causes. On all donations we charge a small fee of up to 5% of the donation (which includes card processing charges). We do not charge a fee on any Gift Aid claimed. This means that if you made a donation of £10 with Gift Aid (worth £2.50), the charity would receive a minimum of £12.00.
All donations made through SportsGiving are considered charitable gifts and are non-refundable.
SportsGiving and its partners and charities represented reserve the right to refuse to accept any donations and to refuse to supply goods or services to any individual without explanation.
When a donation is made through SportsGiving the transaction is final and not disputable unless unauthorised use of your payment card is proved. If you become aware of fraudulent use of your card, or if it is lost or stolen, you must notify your card provider and if a payment is made to SportsGiving on a stolen card, you must notify us immediately.
Online transactions are subject to a small fee levied by debit and credit card companies. These third party charges do not exceed 3.0% and are included within your donation. The organisers of the event are responsible for other bank charges.
By ticking the Gift Aid box, and providing your details, you are allowing us to treat your donations as a Gift Aid donation. If the donation is to be divided by multiple charities you understand that the Gift Aid claimed will also be split in the same proportions. You confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
If this event is receiving charitable donations, I understand that my SportsGiving fundraising page is raising money for the nominated event charity (or charities).
I understand that my SportsGiving page is raising funds for the listed charity partners only, and any raised funds raised will be paid directly to the listed charity partners.
I also understand that I must not use my SportsGiving page to raise any funds for a charity not directly involved with the event to which I am registering.
