Now in its third year, The Beale Beastie is a highly acclaimed season opener for novices and experienced traithletes alike.

Your refreshing 400m swim is an open water lake swim, followed by a challenging 20km bike ride - taking on one or two notorious local hills (it is a Beastie after all).  You finish up with a picturesque 5km run along the Thames tow path and into the beautiful parkland grounds of Beale Park.

The Wee Beastie is our junior event for 8-16 year olds, held on the same day (around 12.00pm) and is a rather unique open water swim for the junior athletes.  The bike and the run are safe within the grounds of Beale Park.

The Beastie and The Wee Beastie is a great day out for all the family.  With a race village, hot food and the beauty of the Berkshire countryside, you don't want to miss it!

Wet suit hire is available for £10 through My Sporting Times, and the link is sent to you on registration.

WAVE TIMES:

For the adult race, the first wave will go off at 8am, and all waves will be in the water by 8.30am.

The first wave for The Wee Beastie is at approximately 11.15am and will continue in age order at around 20 minute intervals

PLEASE NOTE:  This event is wetsuit compulsory.  We also recommend that you have swum outdoors before you take part in this event.

Here's what they said about The Beale Beastie 2018:

"Just an amazing day. When I registered the day before, I was so anxious, but the positive friendly reassurance actually turned me round.  At the event the lovely woman came up and asked how it went!!!!! How wonderful she remembered. The marshalls made it personal too, genuine warmth and family feel!!!! Thank you"

"Great morning of outside fun. First ever tri and I felt very well looked after. A big thank you to all of your friendly and enthusiastic marshals."

"Great location and layout and very helpful Marshalls. The pre event information was fab too"

"The actual event... Really enjoyable ride with some variety to it.  I enjoyed the cross country nature of the run through some lovely countryside. Lots of signage and encouraging marshalls the whole way round. Pot holes marked up on the cycle course as well.  Felt very much like an event run by Triathletes for Triathletes rather than a company trying to make profit every where.  Would recommend to anyone form newbie to seasoned to do it."

Beale Park is home to an exciting mix of animals and attractions, and all competitors and their families can enjoy a discount on entry into the Wildlife Park on the day of the event.  You can purchase discounted entry tickets for use on 19 May when you register for either The Beale Beastie or The Wee Beastie.
